Veteran agent and former co-owner of two top ten agencies, Next Model Management and New York Model Management, JJ Cortez has enjoyed an enduring presence in the International Fashion market since starting out in Paris in 1986.

In the span of 24 years, he has been responsible for the success of many top models. He has built long term relationships with the world's most established agencies, magazines, photographers, and advertising and catalogue companies.

In the early 90's JJ's creative management style transformed Spectrum Model Management from a small commercial agency to a respected editorial agency in less than three years. From Spectrum the fashion business reaped success stories such as Niki Taylor, Daniela Pestova, Liv Tyler, Eva Herzegova and Angie Harmon just to name a few.

The success he realized with Spectrum Management lead to a "defacto" merger with Next Model Management, where he helped the careers of actresses Rebecca Romijn, Milla Jovovich, Bridget Moynahan, Molly Simms, and Joy Bryant sky-rocket to supermodel level. In the subsequent years he also worked with Bijou Phillips and Estella Warren.

His models have graced the covers of hundreds of magazines throughout the world including Vogue (American, German, Italian, British and French). Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Mademoiselle, Marie Claire, Sports Illustrated, and Victoria's Secret.
